Wine Tour, 2 wineries + Typical Catalan Breakfast

The Empordà region is still one of the most unknown areas in Catalonia, only 90 minuts from Barcelona and 40 minutes from Girona, a lot of people only know the Costa Brava and its beaches, but there is a product that though always has been part of this land, today surprises us for its top quality, the wine of  D.O. Empordà.
Just having a walk around this area, especially in the High Empodà you will see the importance of the wine in this land. There are vineyards all over the landscape, up to the sea shore, in terraces, to take advantage of the slopes of the Albera mountains.

Small cellars, usually familiar or cooperative that have strived in modernize, looking for the best oenologist to improve their wines and to compete in quality with the best Spanish wines.
These cellars have a small production and it's difficult to find them in the market.

With this tour, you will have the opportunity to test wines that for sure, will surprise you. Also you can taste the Top Quality products, like sausages, cheeses, the Anchovies of L' Escala, olive oil or Foies.

The owners or the winemakers, will be present to explain you all the process that follow to produce their wines, since the harvest of the grape until the final product. In a guided visit to the cellar you will see how they combine tradition with new technologies.
You will know the varieties of autochthonous grapes, the different soils and how the Tramontana  (north wind blowing very often in this region) and the vecinity to the sea affects to our wines.

Red, rosé, white and the pearl of the Empordà, our Garnatxa, are increasingly awarded all over the world, getting recognition of the well done work, the dedication and the effort of a lot of people.

In this tour you will visit 2 of the best cellars of this area, where you will be able to taste a selection of their best wines and they will explain us all the process of production, and also you will have the possibility of stroll around the vineyards and see in each season how the grapes grow.
